The cities of Albany, CA and Oakland, CA passed a $.01 Sweetened Beverage Tax.
The tax is paid initially by distributors and passed on the retailers in the form of a cost increase.
Sites should raise their retails of sugary drinks (Coke, Pepsi, Monster, Rockstar, etc.) as they see fit to cover the added cost from the distributors.
Also, a similar situation will happen effective 1/1/18 in San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA.
